Riverside Theatre
A small to medium size regional receiving theatre, Riverside was established in 1976 by the University of Ulster as a centre for performing arts and culture on its Coleraine campus, close to the popular Causeway Coast. The Riverside Theatre is full of activity with events running all year round.
Flowerfield Arts Centre
The Flowerfield centre is a dedicated multi purpose building for promoting the arts. Its range of facilities include an auditorium, dark room, galleries, and teaching rooms to hold classes for arts and crafts. There are several available art studios within the building in which artists are encouraged to take residency, allowing visitors to view the process of their work.
Festivals
The North coast is delighted to host some of Ireland’s most exciting festivals;
The North West 200, held annually in May, a world renowned road motor bike race, hosting some of the world’s most famous riders.
NI International Air Show, Portrush, - spectacular displays from some of the most infamous aircraft, including the Red Arrows.
The Northern Ireland Milk Cup was established in 1983 and quickly progressed to become one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe, if not the world.
Guinness North Coast Folk Festival 2008, set to liven’ up your Halloween with a range of artists performing at various venues between Portstewart and Portrush including the Nuala Kennedy Quartet at Flowerfield in 2008.
Golf Events
Coming Soon…….The North Coast is delighted to announce that it will hold the first North Coast links tournament in September of 2009. The event will take place over three days teeing off from Portstewart on Sunday 27th September 2009, continuing on to Castlerock on Monday 28h of September and finishing off at the 18th hole of Royal Portrush, where the closing ceremony and prize giving will also be hosted on the 29th of September 2009.
